BIRDING WACARPAY LAKE

We leave very early morning towards the Huacarpay Lake at 3200 m. a. s. l. (about 10,000 feet) at half an hour from Cusco. We will be able to observe endemic birds, residents and migratory, because this lake is a crossing site. The Huacarpay Lake is classified Ramsa (swamps protection treaty) this lake is habited for water birds such as: Andean Coot, Common-Morhen, Ruddy Duck, Yellow-Billed Teal, Puna Ibis and is possible to see passerines around for example White-Crowned Elaenia, White-Browed Chat-tyrant, Rufous Breasted Chat-tyrant, Rusty-Fronted Canastero (endemic),Streak-Fronted Thornbird, Bearded-Mountaineer, Black tailed trainbearer and Green Tailed Trainbearer,..Etc.
